Who We Are

We are a husband and wife team who are both graduates from BYU with film and media arts degrees, and we worked in Hollywood for over a decade.

As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we come from several generations of traditionally large families who were unrepentant overachievers. We are now parents of our own monumental family with children ranging from infant to college student with a stunning mix of personalities and an almost even split between girls and boys.

If you add together the ages of all our children at this moment, you could say that we have logged over 120 years of experience working with children thus far.

We feel strongly that our duty as parents is to do our best to teach our kids to love God, serve others, work hard, and develop their unique abilities and talents. Similar to the father from the book “Cheaper by the Dozen”, we are somewhat obsessed with efficiency. Moneypants is the tool we’ve developed over the past 20 years to help us stay organized, focused, and achieve the most with the time, energy, and resources we have.

Who We Are NOT

We are not parenting experts. Moneypants is not a parenting system. Rather, we are parents with a LOT of experience who are trying to help others avoid the mistakes we made. There is a lot of information out there that is simply not true.

That’s why we developed Moneypants in the first place. We discovered very quickly that most of the popular advice for parents simply doesn’t work. We needed real tools to help motivate our kids to work, to develop their talents, and to be ready to be on their own as adults.

Moneypants is that toolbox we developed to help parents enhance their current parenting style, whatever it may be. It is not meant to replace your parenting style, but rather to support it.

Moneypants is a collection of tools to help parents motivate their family members to become their best selves by learning work ethic, developing good habits, and establishing proper money management skills.
